Preamble: The RJBS inter-house sports, being an annual event, has always been an elaborate and competitive event, covering variety of activities which is looked forward to with keen desire and great expectation by all the students, as it is graced by parents and dignitaries from all and sundry, invited schools just to mention a few. In effect, the announcement of the date for it sparks up excitement, joy and enthusiastic preparation by every student so as to take part in one event or the other for their various houses as they await the forthcoming of the said date.
The 2021 inter-house sport took another dimension from the usual elaborate and outside event. It was an internal affair among the students themselves within the school premises, and thus named intra-house sports. This is in adherence to the protocol of the Covid-19 and its second wave in 2021 as directed by the federal govt.
The intra house sports featured activities ranging from games (i.e indoor and outdoor) such as scrabble, table tennis, football, volleyball, Ps4, athletics (100m, 200m, 400m, sack, egg, thread and needle races), music and dance competition.
The events kicked off on the 23rd of January, 2021 with football game between Green and Yellow house (female category) and ran through the 7th week, the supposed mid-term break. All the events were keenly competed for among the house representatives during the week aforementioned.
The climax of the whole activity was the track and field event, the races which took place on the 27th February, 2021, and capped up with the music/dance competition.
In conclusion of the events, the results were announced by the principal.
First position: Green house with a total of 10 Gold, 7 Silver, and 7 Bronze
Second position: Blue house with a total of 9 Gold, 8 Silver, and 7 Bronze
Third position: Yellow house bagging 5 Gold, 7 Silver, and 7 Bronze
Fourth position: Red house with a total of 4 Gold, 6 Silver, and 8 Bronze
The principal presented the trophies with cash rewards to the respective houses.
